In 2011 I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology at the Radboud University in Nijmegen with a specialization in cognition. In my bachelor’s thesis I studied the awareness of making mistakes in chronic pain patients. In 2013 I obtained my master’s degree in healthcare psychology at the Radboud University. In my master’s thesis I investigated whether distraction is an effective strategy for reducing acute pain. After my graduation I have been involved in a project investigating the effect of individual differences in attention and proficiency on multiple activation and competition processes in non-native word recognition in noise at the Radboud University for 1.5 years. Since the beginning of March 2015 I am working as a research assistant at Altrecht Eating Disorders Rintveld for the EU FP7 project I.Family. The aim of this project is to identify effective interventions that help families make lifestyle and in particular food choices that support lifelong health. My role in this project is assisting in studying how neuropsychological profiles of children/adolescents and their parents contribute to specific eating patterns and weight status.
