Introduction
To combine my passion for travelling and knowledge, I obtained my MD-Physician degree from St. Petersburg, Russian Federation (2008) and thereafter moved to The Netherlands to complete my Masters study in Neuroscience and Cognition (2010). Flowing the completion of my master’s degree I have joined the lab of Prof. Roger Adan as a PhD candidate to continue working in the field of energy balance. I am currently based at the Department Of Translational Neuroscience, Rudolf Magnus Institute of Neuroscience, Utrecht, The Netherlands.
Research
My PhD project focuses on understanding the role of leptin signaling in obesity and upon weight loss. I am specifically interested in the energy expenditure aspect of energy balance and thus study the role of leptin in this regard. Recently I also started working under the supervision of Prof. Annemarie van Elburg to study how different aspects of energy expenditure is affected in patients with Anorexia Nervosa.
